This week on Third Eye Cinema: explore the darkness of occult initiation with Adam Zaars of Tribulation! Best known for his two legendary albums with retro-traditional metal revivalists Enforcer, Adam and his band Tribulation burst onto the scene with the much feted modern death metal classic The Horror, 4 years past! Pulling an extreme about face, Tribulation has gone in new and unexpected directions with their latest release, The Formulas of Death, with a sound far more reminiscent of fellow Swedish black metal leaders Watain! Join us as we talk of dark things, with Adam Zaars of Tribulation, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 52 (Sun. June 16): Adam Zaars of Tribulation http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

This week on Third Eye Cinema: genre-bending independent auteur Nico Mastorakis! With a background as an investigative reporter, concert promoter, radio DJ and television producer, Nico made his move into film with one of the most infamous of the "video nasties", the perverse Island of Death. After a brief foray into television as writer and co-producer of The Greek Tycoon, Nico and his Omega Entertainment would go on to release one entertaining, unclassifiably expectation defying film after another: The Zero Boys, The Wind, Nightmare at Noon, Skyhigh, Glitch, Terminal Exposure and more! Marked by a strong sense of characterization and suspense, as well as being blessed with a long line of "name" stars (and those who would go on to become such), his films stand alone among independent exploitation cinema as being consistently entertaining, surprising, quality pictures that touch on the tropes of numerous film subgenres at once, without truly being pigeonholable as any of them: action slashers, sex comedy spy films, slick mystery thrillers with elements of all of the above and more! A man with a great sense of humor about himself and his work, join us for an insightful and amusing interview with the one and only Nico Mastorakis, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 51 (Sun. July 9): Nico Mastorakis http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

This week Third Eye Cinema: enter the realms of sword and sorcery with power metal mastermind Christopher Bowes of Gloryhammer and Alestorm! Fronting one of the most entertaining and unusual bands in the power/folk metal scene, Christopher lends his rich Scotch burr to such aggressively anthemic paeans to larceny and lust on the high seas as Back in Time with the one and only Alestorm! Now working a brand new concept and band, Christopher lends his vision and keyboard skills to yet another over the top dramatic power metal act, focused on the more traditional arena of dragons, wizards, trolls and questing knights in shining armor! With a bombast and simultaneous tongue in cheek adoration of everything majestic and cheesy about the genre, Christopher and his new band Gloryhammer approach the excesses and misty mountain peaks of such acts as Manowar and Rhapsody at their finest! Join us for one of our more entertaining interviews with the quite likeable first mate of metal himself, the one and only Christopher Bowes, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Then, a band that may represent a true revival of the heyday of gothic symphonic metal! With their fourth album, Austria's Serenity have finally achieved theirbreakthrough, with a hook laden, historically focused masterwork that simultaneously celebrates and breaks all conventions of the genre! Prominently featuring the lovely Clementine Delanger on female vocals, this is no typical "beauty and the beast" gothic symphonic affair - male vocalist Georg Neuhauser delivers a melodic, clean toned sound hailing straight out of the days of 80's new wave! Join us for an amusing interview with both vocalist Georg Neuhauser and guitarist Thomas Buchberger of Serenity, only here on Third Eye Cinema! http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

As the producer and owner of Mastersound Studios, he's worked with gothic metal greats like Elis, Delain, Theatre of Tragedy and Visions of Atlantis, and traditional and thrash metal veterans such as Doro Pesch of Warlock, Whiplash and Anvil! As the mastermind behind Leaves Eyes, he co-fronts the most recognized and beloved act in gothic, symphonic and viking/pagan metal circles! And as the leader of his own long running band Atrocity, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of death metal, tapping into gothic, industrial, and even pop territory over a long and varied career spanning back to the mid-80's! Third Eye Cinema 4/21/13 with Udo Dirkschneider

This week on Third Eye Cinema: one of our proudest musical moments, as we feature a living legend! With roots in the metal scene going back to the late 1970s, he fronted one of the premier bands of German metal, the mighty Accept! With his throaty, glass gargling yet powerful vocals shoring up Wolf Hoffman's neoclassically based compositions, he helped put Accept at the very top echelons of traditional heavy metal! After delivering 7 molten slabs of unforgettable and still influential anthems (including such classic platters as Restless and Wild, Balls to the Wall and Metal Heart), he broke off to begin his own equally hard hitting, stubbornly and persistently traditional metal band U.D.O., despite and throughout the musical nadir of the 1990s, where such sorry substitutes as grunge, hip hop and "alternative" dominated the airwaves and practically demonized the sound worldwide. With such anthemic, unwaveringly 80's style albums as Animal House, Holy, and Mission No. X, he stayed true to his roots and delivering the goods for over 35 years, as shown in dramatic relief on the recent Live in Sofia, whose contents span his entire career with both bands! On the cusp of releasing his 14th album with U.D.O., Steelhammer, please join us for an entertaining and often revelatory career-spanning interview with the one and only Udo Dirkschneider, only here on Third Eye Cinema!
