Third Eye Cinema 2/2/14 with Ron Keel
Monday Feb 03, 2014
Monday Feb 03, 2014
This week on Third Eye Cinema: legendary metal singer Ron Keel! A man who delivered some of the most distinctive and powerful yet melodic vocals in 80’s metal, Ron served as both frontman and driving force behind the amazing Steeler, which introduced the world to neoclassical shred by way of its guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, before turning out several albums with his own excellent and radio friendly outfit, Keel. During the long dark night of music that was the 90's, Ron turned to the music of the heartland, finding a new venue of expression in the realm of country music, both as a solo performer and with his band Ironhorse. Now back on track with an amazing comeback album and his own metal podcast (both titled Streets of Rock n' Roll), join us as we speak to the great Ron Keel, only here on Third Eye Cinema! http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/

Third Eye Cinema 1/5/14 with Leather Leone of Chastain
Monday Jan 06, 2014
Monday Jan 06, 2014
This week on Third Eye Cinema: a welcome return engagement from perhaps the greatest of all female metal singers, legendary powerhouse Leather Leone! As frontwoman for Chastain on no less than five records between 1985 and 1991, her dramatic, Dio inspired pipes both complemented and drew some much deserved attention to David T. Chastain's darkly melodic neoclassical guitar work, resulting in what many insiders agree may be 5 of the greatest metal records ever recorded! After a staggering two decade absence from music (!) and in honor of her late mentor the great Ronnie James Dio, Leather has reunited with the legendary guitarist and revitalized him from a long flirtation with blues-rock to deliver an album very much in the classic Chastain mode! Join us as we speak to the one and only Leather Leone, only here on Third Eye Cinema! http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/

Third Eye Cinema 12/15/13 with Alex Starapoli of Rhapsody of Fire
Monday Dec 16, 2013
Monday Dec 16, 2013
This week on Third Eye Cinema, we speak with a founding member of a long running symphonic power metal band that practically defined both genres, both inspiring and striking awe into all those who came in their wake! With their penchant for several year, multi album ongoing storylines, operatic bombast and truly epic feel, they put out a staggering 10 albums, 2 EPs and a rather unique single which inspired a nonogenarian horror legend to front his own metal project thereafter! Notable for a Dungeons and Dragons inspired immersive world building experience in audio, they employed choir and orchestra to a degree that few if any dared imitate. Forefronting the sort of effusive emotionalism that could only come from the birthplace of Verdi and Puccini, the golden tones of core members Fabio Lione and the keyboard work and compositional skills of this man spearheaded and popularized the genres of both symphonic and power metal. Join us as we speak of legendary tales and heroic doings, with Alex Starapoli of the legendary Rhapsody (of Fire), only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 68 (Sun. Dec. 15): Alex Starapoli of Rhapsody of Fire
