Next time on Third Eye Cinema: get ready to pull out those spandex and leather pants and bang your heads! We'll be speaking with both Cara McCutchen (vocals) and Alex Gutierrez (guitars) of Canadian Bay Area style retro-thrashers Mortillery! Just 6 months after their last visit to Third Eye, Mortillery have already given us a brand new slab of molten old school thrash metal, far surpassing their debut in tapping into the classic sound of such acts as Flotsam & Jetsam, Vio-Lence, Death Angel, Heathen, Forbidden, Exodus and even early Metallica (remember when THEY were actually relevant?)!!! Join us for a return engagement from guitarist Alex Gutierrez of Mortillery, and for the first time, vocalist Cara McCutchen, only here on Third Eye Cinema! http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

This week on Third Eye Cinema: Hope Stansbury joins us to speak about her career and time working with Andy Milligan! As the writer of his very first short film Vapors and a striking presence in several of his later pictures, spanning a range from early s*xploiters like Depraved and The Degenerates to his legendary horror pictures The Rats are Coming, The Werewolves are here and Blood, Hope was present and involved with Andy from his pre-cinema days as an off-off Broadway playwright in the early 60’s straight through the better part of his East Coast career! Join us as we speak to a stunning gothic beauty from the world of Andy Milligan, the lovely Ms. Hope Stansbury, exclusively here on Third Eye Cinema! http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

Third Eye Cinema 1/20/13 - Nordic Invasion Special
Monday Jan 21, 2013
Monday Jan 21, 2013
This week on Third Eye Cinema: the first Third Eye broadcast of 2013, with a pair of bands straight out of Europe! First up, we speak to Tomas Olsson of Swedish power metal standbys Bloodbound! With a difficult history involving numerous turnovers in vocalist, Tomas and Bloodbound have finally settled down with impressive frontman Patrik Johansson for Unholy Cross and their latest opus, In the Name of Metal! Hearkening back to the classic melodic power metal template laid out by bands like Hammerfall and Helloween, this band is well worth checking out for fans of the style! Next, we head over to Norway to speak with Torkjell "Toschie" Rod of Audrey Horne! Founded by members of such infamous black metal acts as Gorgoroth, God Seed and Enslaved, Audrey Horne taps into unexpected 70's rock and 80's AOR and "corporate rock" territory, with a sound that brings to mind acts like Journey, Foreigner, Styx and Aldo Nova! Follow the trail of the one armed man to the Red Room and the Man from Another Place for our interview with Toschie from Audrey Horne! Third Eye Cinema 12/9/12 Power Metal Hat Trick Special
Monday Dec 10, 2012
Monday Dec 10, 2012
On Sunday, December 8, 7pm EST, 4pm PST, tune in for the final Third Eye broadcast of 2012, with a trio of power metal bands straight out of Europe! First up, we speak to Markus Brinkmann of longtime genre standbys Mob Rules! With an equal focus on melodic, radio friendly metal and the sort of politicosocial consciousness not seen in the scene since the heyday of thrash, Mob Rules delivers another slab of straightforward metal worthy of your attention on their new record Cannibal Nation! Next, we have a fireside chat with Seeb Levermann of melodic metal maestros Orden Ogan! Drawing equally from power and pagan metal, Orden Ogan meet the challenge of modern production with a sound equally reminiscent of acts like Manowar and Edenbridge, with wide open multi-voiced choruses and crisp post-millenial studio savvy on their latest and greatest, To The End! Finally, we speak to the irrepressible Timo Schwammlein, "Managarm" from pagan/black/power metal warriors Varg! With the courage to record almost exclusively in their native tongue, and tapping into the sound and imagery of black, pagan, and power metal alike, Varg mix the brutality, harsh vocals and stagenames of black metal with the bounce and melodic leanings of pagan and power metal to create a unique balance of power and pain (and even a dash of social relevance) with their American assault, Guten Tag! Join us for our year end blowout, Sunday December 9! Stay tuned for more great news from the worlds of music and film coming in 2013! http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

Third Eye Cinema 11/4/12 with Leather Leone
Monday Nov 05, 2012
Monday Nov 05, 2012
This week on Third Eye Cinema: perhaps the greatest of all female metal singers, legendary powerhouse Leather Leone! As frontwoman for Chastain on no less than five records between 1985 and 1991, her dramatic, Dio inspired pipes both complemented and drew some much deserved attention to David T. Chastain's darkly melodic neoclassical guitar work, resulting in what many insiders agree may be 5 of the strongest metal records ever recorded! After a staggering two decade absence from music (!) and in honor of her late mentor, Leather has returned to the fray, sounding just as powerful as the day she left! Having been involved with drummer Sandy Sledge in two other all-female projects, Rude Girl and Malibu Barbi, Leather has reunited with her old bandmate to deliver a haunting yet hard hitting slab of traditional steel that gives more than just a nod to the classics, filtered through a postmodern crunch. Join us as we speak to the one and only Leather Leone, only here on Third Eye Cinema!
