Known best for a series of amusing teen sex comedies in the late 80's and early '90s, Richard has worked for such notable cult film directors as Jim Wynorski, Dave DeCocteau and Fred Olen Ray, as well as numerous films of his own, on which he served as writer, director, star and composer! Often starring such high profile "scream queens" as Linnea Quigley, Michele Bauer/McLellan and Brinke Stevens, Richard has given us or taken part in such notable USA Up All Night/Cinemax staple horror/comedy classics as Nightmare Sisters, Assault of the Party Nerds, Virgin High, Hot Under the Collar and Demon Wind! Third Eye Cinema 6/24/12 - Kontrust and Vintersorg

Tonight on Third Eye Cinema: Stefan Lichtenberger of Kontrust and Andreas "Vintersorg" Hedlund of Vintersorg! First, we have with us one of the driving forces behind an unusual and interesting band from Austria, who are breaking down accepted stylistic templates associated with genre to create a sound uniquely their own.   Gothic metal, pop, punk, even dancehall reggae and nu-metal blend in a high energy, surprisingly good humored melange so fluid and unsettled that the music doesn't just push boundaries - it actually doesn't even acknowledge their existence. Winners of the Austrian Newcomer Award and the Amadeus Austrian Music Award and now making a bid for international stardom with their first album on Napalm Records, the uncategorizable Second Hand Wonderland, join us as we speak to Stefan of Kontrust, only here on Third Eye Cinema!   Next, we have quite an amazing band who crosses the borders of black metal, pagan metal and viking metal to create something quite new and surprisingly melodic.  Taking part in a mind boggling seven bands, many simultaneously, Andreas "Vintersorg" Hedlund brings the epic sound he helps to craft in the well respected Borknagar and a mixture of folk and progressive sensibilities to his own long running band, where apart from fellow guitarist Mattias Marklund, he handles all vocals and instruments himself. Tonight on Third Eye Cinema: the first lady of exploitation, the irrepressible Roberta Findlay! Tonight on Third Eye Cinema: Christian Hector from "nautik" funeral doom band Ahab! Welcome to Third Eye Cinema!  Tonight we speak with the inimitable Cynthia Rothrock!  Holder of multiple titles and trophies including 5 years straight as World Champion in Weapons and Forms and black belts in no less than SIX disciplines across both Chinese and Korean styles, Cynthia was scouted by Golden Harvest in the mid-80's to become "the next Bruce Lee".  She's gone on to become the first major Western superstar working in Hong Kong cinema, before returning to our shores to star in a combined total of over 40 films to date!  The real-life inspiration for Mortal Kombat's Sonya Blade and frequent pin-up, Cynthia continues to make films, as well as working as a martial arts teacher, with plans to open her own dojo!
