Next time on Third Eye Cinema: we talk the Swedish AOR revival with Robert Sall of W.E.T. and Work of Art! Coming straight out of a nation known best for SAAB, ABBA, classic Sunlight Studios style death metal and a viciously aggressive black metal scene, Robert Sall and company have spearheaded what's becoming something of a local scene in classic late 70's-mid 80's melodic AOR rock! Joined by likeminded acts such as State of Salazar, Adrenaline Rush and the various Frontiers Records projects Sall and fellow W.E.T. compatriot Erik Martenson are either responsible for or involved with, Work of Art arose from a music conservatory background to produce some of the richest and most musically complex yet satisfying ear candy released since the heyday of inspirations like Journey, Styx, Kansas, Foreigner and...did he really say Toto? Please join us as we delve into the history and mystery behind the rise of the one and only Robert Sall, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 88 (Sun. Dec. 7) - Robert Sall of W.E.T. and Work of Art http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

Next time on Third Eye Cinema: it's Ladies' Night, with a triumvirate of female fronted metal! First, we feature a young woman who came out of a rather unusual background as a child pop star in her native Sweden. Joining forces with a noted guitarist on the current AOR scene, she’s back in the public eye with a new band that brings back the glory days of good time, cruisin’ with the top down L.A. style metal! Join us as we chat with the lovely Tave Wanning of Adrenaline Rush! Then we talk to two more voices in the new renaissance of gothic metal! First up, we chat with a woman who came out of a solo pop career in her native Finland to join forces with a notable band in the gothic metal scene. Losing both their former vocalist and half of their guitar team during a major band shakeup a few years back, the band returns to the fray with a very different style of vocalist, moving out of a more particularly gothic-symphonic milieu into more of a power metal inflected, radio friendly take on gothic metal. Please join us as we speak to the lovely Päivi Virkkunen, better known as Capri of Amberian Dawn! Finally, we speak to the first true gothic symphonic metal act to hail from domestic shores! Originally hailing from Texas and now based out of Minnesota, we speak with two members of a brand new act who may very well be the first truly symphonically oriented gothic metal band ever to hail from the USA! With a pronounced power metal influence bolstered by prominent, unusually busy guitar work and operatic vocals, they’ve self released one of the more notable albums in the new gothic-symphonic revival! Please join us as we welcome vocalist Chelsea Knaack and drummer Jordan Ames of Heliosaga! Week 87 (Sun. Sept. 7) - Adrenaline Rush, Amberian Dawn and Heliosaga http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema

This week on Third Eye Cinema: the conclusion of our career length interview with a true legend in death metal, the one and only James Murphy! The first, and perhaps only true guitar hero in the death metal genre, after debuting as a touring member of classic speed metallers Agent Steel, James became a ubiquitous presence and vital linchpin of any number of key albums in the heyday of Florida death metal: Death's Spiritual Healing, Obituary's Cause of Death, Cancer's Death Shall Rise, and his own Disincarnate with Dreams of the Carrion Kind, as well as being a ubiquitous guest soloist on numerous albums of the day produced by the legendary Scott Burns! After appearing on a few well respected records from Bay Area thrashers Testament, James turned his hand towards a pair of solo records and a new career in production, before hitting a devastating setback no one could have predicted. This week, we talk Disincarnate and his time in Testament, gear and guitar tech, working with Konkhra, his solo albums and production work, as well as the major health setback that nearly put a stop to it all. Join us as we conclude our career spanning discussion with James Murphy, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 86 (Sun. July 20) James Murphy part 2 - Disincarnate, Testament and rolling with the changes http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/

This week on Third Eye Cinema: a true legend in death metal, the one and only James Murphy! The first, and perhaps only true guitar hero in the death metal genre, James debuted as a touring member of classic speed metallers Agent Steel, and in short order found himself performing on a number of key albums in the glory days of death metal: Death's Spiritual Healing, Obituary's Cause of Death, Cancer's Death Shall Rise, and his own Disincarnate with Dreams of the Carrion Kind, as well as being a ubiquitous guest soloist on any number of albums recorded by legendary producer Scott Burns at Florida's Morrisound studios! After appearing on a few well respected records from Bay Area thrashers Testament, James turned his hand towards a pair of solo records and a new career in production, before hitting a devastating setback no one could have predicted. Now back on track and working as both producer and musician on a number of projects (including a planned Disincarnate album!), we chat with James about everything from soup to nuts, from his earliest days in music through the heyday of death metal and right up to the present day! Join us as we speak to James Murphy, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 85 (Sun. July 13) with James Murphy of Death, Obituary, Cancer, Testament and Disincarnate http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/

This week on Third Eye Cinema, prepare to be scared as we confront the vampire in her lair! Emerging from Florentine Tuscan roots to an increasingly prominent role in one of the more unique and memorable of acts in gothic metal, she's played both frontwoman and visual focus for one of the most notable darkside-leaning acts to hail from the incongruously sunny shores of the Mediterranean! With a proper operatically trained background and a striking look, she’s spearheaded some major changes in her band, emerging from a more obvious black metal coccoon to develop into a more bombastic, harmonically oriented and often stylistically syncretist force in the gothic metal scene! With a unique focus on sexuality and Anne Rice-Hammer Studios style vampirism, her band has never been less than interesting, with a well crafted, catchy and often affecting sound and stage show drawing in equal parts from the gothic rock, dance-industrial and gothic metal scenes! Join us as we welcome freely and of our own will the alluring Princess of the Night herself, the lovely Sonya Scarlet of Theatres des Vampires, only here on Third Eye Cinema! Week 84 (Sun. June 22) - Sonya Scarlet of Theatres des Vampires http://www.facebook.com/ThirdEyeCinema http://thirdeyecinema.wordpress.com/
